Lace

I am hoping someone can help  me find some information about this lace. It is made with metallic thread and is a "tape" type lace. Anyone know how I can tell how old it is, what metal the thread is covered in and how I would clean and conserve it?
It is actually a lace fan

  3. I can't help but it's a wonderful piece of work. It reminds me of the crotchet work my grandmother did.
